frequently asked questions
Do I have to have previous experience in ceramics to do one of your workshops?
No, our workshops are aimed at people at all levels, from beginners to more experienced amateurs. Miguel Ángel will guide you according to your experience and preferences.
Can I attend your courses alone?
Yes, you don’t need to come with anyone. In each modality we indicate the price for an individual option.
However, please note that for one-day experiences we need a minimum group size of 4 people. For the weekend or week-long experiences, we need a minimum of two students. All you have to do is make your booking and we will take care of everything.
What’s the minimum age for participating in the experiences?
People of all ages can participate, but children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult, as they tend to need more attention.
Can I take home what I make in the workshop?
Of course you can take your creations home with you! However, please note that the ceramic pieces require time to dry and fire, so you won’t be able to take them home immediately. They will be available for pick-up or delivery to your home (with additional shipping costs) after a couple of weeks.
What is included in the experience price?
The price includes all the necessary materials, the use of pottery tools and equipment and the firing of your creations (2 pieces in the four-hour workshops, 3 pieces in the weekend workshops and 4 pieces in the 6-day courses).
Additionally, we offer coffee and homemade pastries in the workshops that last a few hours and you will live and have your meals with us in the weekend and 6-day courses.
In our 6-day experiences, you can also take part in the cultural activities that we organise, such us workshops, visits to nearby towns, etc. They will be different, according to your preferences and the time of the year.
What is NOT included in the experiences?
- The delivery costs of sending the fired pieces to your home.
- Firing of any additional pieces (anything over 3 for weekend experiences and more than 4 for week-long experiences).
- Alcoholic beverages and sugary soft drinks (we lead a healthy lifestyle and consume practically none ourselves. If you want, you can buy them on your own).
- The journey to Arjonilla (or Andújar).
How can I reserve my spot in a workshop and what is the cancellation policy?
You can book a spot by contacting us directly. We try to be flexible about cancellations; please see our terms and conditions for more information.
Do you offer private or personalised workshops?
Yes, we offer the option of private workshops and can customise the experience to suit your interests or needs. Contact us to discuss details and availability.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of participants for each workshop?
Yes, each workshop requires a minimum number of participants in order to happen and is capped to ensure a personalised, high- quality experience. Please refer to each workshop description for specific details.
Are the courses in Spanish and what happens if I don’t speak Spanish?
In principle, the courses are taught in Spanish, although Miguel Ángel can also speak English and Portuguese if necessary. In addition to these languages, Inma also speaks German and French (the advantages of having a translator at home).
What else is there to do in Arjonilla?
Arjonilla is a town with a rich heritage and offers a variety of cultural and recreational activities. We recommend you explore the village’s historical heritage, enjoy a walk through the olive groves and participate in our cultural immersion activities.
