Weekend, from Friday afternoon to Sunday (10-h course)
Would you like to relax in a charming little village surrounded by olive trees? Have you always liked to create things with your own hands?
Relax working the clay while you listen to the birds singing and enjoy the beautiful landscape characteristic of Jaén.
What are we going to do?
Friday afternoon:
Visit to the workshop and exhibition space of 'Cantarico Alfarería'. Explanation of the history of pottery and its production process.
Saturday:
Morning: 4 hours working with clay. Mid-morning coffee break.
Lunch.
Afternoon: 2 hours in the workshop.
Guided tour of Arjonilla and rest of the afternoon/evening at leisure.
Sunday:
Morning: 4 hours of work with clay. Mid-morning break.
Lunch.
Coffee and farewell.
You will also stay in our home and share our meals with us
In the course we can alternate slab work with learning on the potter’s wheel and sculpting, always adapting to your needs and preferences. You can make a coffee service, a set of trays, items for your desk, a sculpture or anything you can think of. Miguel Ángel will guide you.
However, you won’t be able to take the pieces with you on Sunday because they need time to dry and they have to be fired in the kiln. You can pick them up in a couple of weeks, or if you prefer, we can send them to your home (in this case, the student pays the shipping costs).
The course includes the materials and the firing of 2 pieces. More can be fired for an additional charge. You are also invited to live and eat with us in our home.
